Mrs. McLaughlin’s Last Day

Dear Families,

I wanted to let you all know that my last day of school will be this Friday, May 25th.  My doctor wants me to stay home and rest for a few days before baby Liam is due. We are crossing our fingers that he waits at least until then!!!

End of the year activities will remain the same and Mrs. Hoang will be subsituting for me next week.

I have had a wonderful year teaching this group!  While having a combination class was a challenge at first, I think we have created a learning community where we are more like family than classmates.  I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I can’t wait to see you all next year.  Be sure to come visit!!

Midway Fieldtrip Tomorrow!

Our fieldtrip to the Midway is tomorrow!!!  We will be leaving promptly at 8:45, so please make sure to be at school as early as possible.  We have 6 minutes to walk to the bus station. If you are not here on time, you will not go with us.  If you are not going on the trip with us for any reason, you are still expected to come to school.

Also, we will be doing a lot of walking, make sure to wear comfortable shoes.  Bring a lunch to eat on board the Midway as we will not be buying food.  You will be responsible for carrying your own lunch tomorrow.

This is always a great trip and I am sure you are all superexcited! See you ready to go tomorrow!!

Testing Begins on Monday!

CST Testing will being on Monday!!! I am confident that all of my students are fully prepared for the week.  We have been working so hard in class and at home, I know everyone will do well.  There are a few things you can do for the week to make extra sure you are prepared…

*Go to bed early!  Goind to bed before 9:00pm will help make sure you are getting plenty of rest.

*Eat a good breakfast!  Eating nutritious, filling food will give your brain and your body the energy it needs to do well this week.

*Get plenty of excersize!  Spend time outdoors running around and playing. This will help your brain get more oxygen and help you sleep better at night.

Good luck to everyone! I know you will do well!

Compliment Party!!!

We will be having a compliment party this Friday!!!  To celebrate getting 20 compliment points (FINALLY!!), we will have a movie day.  Mrs. McLaughlin will bring icecream and students are invited to bring in any toppings they would like to share with the class.  They may also bring in a movie for us to choose from.

Happy New Year!

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a wonderful 3 week vacation!  As usual, we have much going on.  The 4th grade Writing CST is coming up at the end of the quarter and we have our fieldtrip to Indian Hills in a few weeks.  We will also be preparing for the CST coming up in April.  The best thing for everyone to be doing is making sure to read EVERY NIGHT.  Remember, this is part of your nightly homework, and in my opinion, the most important part.  Now is also a great time to making a New Year’s Resolution for make an improvement in some area of your life.  I look forward to watching all of you grow and progress this quarter.
